THIS SPEEDOMETER CONTAINS A NON-REMOVABLE RE-CHARGABLE BATTERY – it WILL operate correctly without connecting the 12V leads included with the kit. However, an external battery or power supply from 10V-24V (ideal to use with battery for electric start motors) will be required from time to time to recharge in-bulit rechargable battery. If being used on a vehicle with a 10-24V battery then there is no need to re-charge the inbuilt battery as it will be kept topped up at all times.
